Getting To Know Your Baby: Baby's Second Month Guide

Time has flown. Your little bundle of joy has been a part of your home for more than four weeks now. The new dad and mum are now more relaxed, confident, and really enjoy their new responsibilities (at least most of the time). Here are a few pointers on what to expect in baby's second month.

Semblance of order

Baby, Baby Bath Ring Seat, is no longer attached to mom's breast all the time.

A feed every 2-3 hours usually keeps her satisfied.

Spitting of milk after a feed is normal. Make sure you burp your baby after every feed.

Your two month-old baby most probably now sleeps 3-4 hours between nighttime feedings. She has definite waking hours during the day, which means mom and dad too can work out a routine.

She knows you!

In baby's second month, she focuses her eyes better, and can follow an object in an arc about six to eight inches from her face. She does not actually recognize your face, but definitely knows your touch, scent and voice.

When you coo to her or talk in gentle soothing tones, she starts to make babbling sounds in response.

She enjoys smiling faces, smiles in return, and has a whole range of facial expressions.

I am a big(ger) girl now!

Baby has lost some of her early reflexes and has more control over her movements now. When placed on her stomach she can lift her head for brief periods. If your baby sucks her fists and fingers, let her enjoy the activity. It is too early to picture your two month-old walking to school with her thumb in her mouth.

Bath time can be playtime for your two-month old baby. Trimming baby's nails is best done after a bath (with tiny scissors/infant nail clippers).

To use or not to use

If you plan to introduce the bottle, baby's second month is the perfect time. Breast may be best. But if you have milk supply issues or have to go back to work, bottle-feeding might be necessary. A combination of both can work well too.

Whether to, Baby Bath Ring Seat, use a dummy or pacifier is a tough choice to make. Make sure baby's nursing patterns are well established before you do use one.

Hello Doctor, Baby Bath Ring Seat,

A regular well-baby check-up is scheduled in baby's second month. Your doctor will allay any doubts you have and discuss safety issues like placing baby on her back to sleep, the need for an infant car seat and all the other questions you have.

Your baby will get oral polio drops and some shots this month, most probably a combination of the triple antigen, Influenza and Hepatitis B. These shots usually cause a little fever, which can make some babies cranky. Your doctor will prescribe a fever medication for your baby.

Daddy's girl too!

Dads can involve themselves in every aspect of childcare though they tend to do most things differently. Dad holds baby in his own way, perhaps a little too firmly, but she loves it!

Baby's second month sees her turning from a cute unresponsive newborn into a tiny interactive person.

Watch your little bundle of joy grow and learn a host of things along the way.

Airplane Air And Its Effect On The Skin

Even if you've only taken one flight in your life, chances are you've suffered the effects of "Airplane Air," the germ-heavy, arid brew of recirculated air in the cabin of the, Baby Bath Ring Seat, plane.

Itchy eyes, clogged sinuses and dry skin are all symptoms of this monster, and no wonder: there's less than 25% humidity on a plane, compared to the 35% in most houses. But you can keep the situation under control with some simple steps the next time you board. After all, aren't security lines, hefty ticket prices and noxious seat neighbors stress enough?

1. Take along your own water bottle and drink frequently during the flight. Although how much depends on your flight time, most experts recommend you drink at least 2 full cups more than you normally do.

Your skin is going to lose a lot of moisture in the arid atmosphere and it's important to keep it hydrated from the inside out.

2. Stay away from caffeinated beverages. Although that crying baby isn't going to make it any easier, stay away from alcoholic, Baby Bath Ring Seat, drinks, too.

They dehydrate you and can leave you with a killer hangover at 8,000 feet.

3. Head to the restroom every hour or so to splash some lukewarm water on your face. Aside from the obvious benefit of re-hydrating pores, moving around increases blood circulation in your legs and cuts down on swollen feet.

4. Pack some moisturizer in your carry-on and use it whenever your skin starts feeling, Baby Bath Ring Seat, tight.

If your skin is normally oily, the dryness might actually trigger more oil production, so try wiping your face down occasionally or spraying on some toner.

5. Nasal passageways are easily dried out by airplane air, so take along an over-the-counter nose spray to diminish congestion.

6. Reduce tightness around your eyes by rubbing in a hydrating, nutrient-rich cream and using eye drops to diminish their bloodshot appearance.

7. Try to get as much sleep as you can on the plane. Although you might not want to mess with your normal sleep pattern, the more rest you get, the better you'll feel when you disembark.

Invest in an eye mask, ear plugs and a travel pillow to insure smooth sailing the whole flight through.

8. After you arrive at your destination, take a warm shower or bath as soon as possible. It won't completely replenish the moisture you've lost on the plane, but it will help to restore your skin's natural moisture levels.

Half Term Hell?

After choosing to spend a wet Saturday afternoon in January at an indoor play centre rather than a cosy pub, my partner and I have finally acknowledged that we are bonafide parents. And opting for ball pools and giant plastic farm animals over a nice bottle of wine and a gastro pub lunch means that we finally have to face the prospect of 'the family holiday'.

Our little man is almost 16 months old and now an actual person in his own right. He doesn't just get carted around in a carrier; he has moods, likes and dislikes, and chubby little legs that will carry him wherever he wants to go.

We've avoided flights and long holidays for the last year or so, and are now desperate for a proper break. A few days in a Cotswolds cottage just won't do it any longer so it's a last minute winter sun job. But where do we start?

After doing some quick searches online I know we are in trouble. We need to travel during half term. What kind of hellish world are we entering? Partner would already rather eat his own ears than fly with our little cherub, and that's without all the other small monsters unleashed.

There is hope though and I have formulated a plan which may well help others in the same boat, or plane.

Firstly I will search for family-friendly destinations and accommodation on websites such as Baby Goes 2, Baby Friendly Boltholes and the travel pages of the Times online. No more cold showers in Amazon huts; we want a bath, travel cot, childcare and other grown-ups for those long bar-less evenings. It also seems wise to avoid most of the budget airlines when traveling with small people. The baggage restrictions, additional charges and stampede to the plane are only for the very brave (or foolish).

The thought of airport security and baggage requirements strikes fear into the heart of any sane parent so I am, Baby Bath Ring Seat, scouring the Transport for You pages of the Department for Transport website.

This details all the latest rules regarding hand baggage and liquids. Bizarrely, Baby Bath Ring Seat, it does not actually mention formula or milk, just 'liquid baby foods' and water.

Luckily little H is well past the three-hourly feeds but if we're flying at night we'll need some milk. Considering we will have to taste the milk to verify its authenticity at security, I think buying or pre-ordering formula at Boots in the departure lounge is the best bet. There are few restrictions on liquids packed in hold baggage.

I still have questions over whether we will be able to warm milk during the, Baby Bath Ring Seat, flight as well as traveling with a car seat and buggy so will be phoning the airport and airline to check the latest information on all of this. Partner's gung-ho attitude to bringing the buggy on journeys will be ignored - it will be vital for containing, feeding, resting and transporting H whilst in the terminal building.

Apparently many airports have special facilities for young children so that is worth checking too.

The American United States Transportation Security Administration website has a lot of relevant information for parents on getting through security anywhere. I particularly liked the advice on briefing your little people beforehand on what to expect at the airport. You've basically got to hope your toddler doesn't learn the word 'bomb'.

Bucking recent trends, I am going to be a super-organised mummy and ensure that our hand luggage is packed in easy-to-reach compartments.

There will be no tantrums over a lost muslin on my watch! And I will not let H play with the passports as a distraction during nappy changing.

For once, my slightly obsessive packing of spare clothing and 'just in case' items is the right thing to do. We will have plenty of snacks packed in case of unforeseen delays. All the useful advice online from seasoned,, Baby Bath Ring Seat, if slightly jaded, traveling parents suggests that I will need to start a collection of unseen trinkets, toys and books to introduce in stages throughout the flight to keep little paws busy.

The alternative is medication. Yes, some parents do actually sedate their children for long journeys.

I'm hoping that the airline will be helpful when allocating our seats and consider other passengers by placing us near the front of the cabin and perhaps near other families. H can be entertained for hours by large wheels, flashing orange lights and the moon, so a window seat is ideal for him. Many parents suggest boarding the plane last with toddlers to reduce the time they're expected to sit still.

An airport hotel and pre-booked airport parking is sounding very tempting and actually essential if we want to arrive at check-in with our sanity intact before the real fun begins. There are also meet and greet services available where a driver will meet us at the airport terminal and park, Baby Bath Ring Seat, the car for us.

The nice man will also do the same on our return. We'll need to check with the hotel if cots are available for H and our friends with older children will need to request a family room.

Finally, we will need to allow plenty of time for the journey to the airport and check all the relevant travel updates.

I can't believe I used to just turn up, have a few drinks then watch a film on a flight. But I'm optimistic. It may well be possible to have a lovely first family holiday.

Prevention of Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral Palsy Prevention

Measures of Cerebral Palsy prevention are increasingly possible today. Pregnant women are tested routinely for the Rh factor and, if Rh negative, they can be immunized within 72 hours after the birth (or after the pregnancy terminates) and thereby prevent adverse consequences of blood incompatibility in a subsequent pregnancy. If the woman has not been immunized, the consequences of blood incompatibility in the newborn can be prevented by exchange transfusion in the baby.

If a newborn baby has, Baby Bath Ring Seat, jaundice, this can be treated with phytotherapy (light therapy) in the hospital nursery. Immunization against measles for all women who have not had measles and are susceptible to becoming pregnant is an essential preventive measure.

Other preventive programs are directed towards the prevention of prematurity; reducing exposure of pregnant women to virus and other infections; recognition and treatment of bacterial infection of the maternal reproductive and urinary tracts; avoiding unnecessary exposure to X-rays, drugs and medications; and the control of diabetes, anemia and nutritional deficiencies.

Of great importance are optimal well being prior to conception, adequate prenatal care, and protecting infants from accidents or injury.

The best prescription for having a healthy baby is to have regular prenatal care and good nutrition, and to avoid smoking, alcohol consumption, and drug abuse. Other forms of prevention include:

Prevent head injuries by using child safety seats in automobiles and helmets when riding bicycles, skateboards, etc. Supervise young children closely during bathing and swimming. Prevent child abuse. Keep poisons out of reach.

Treat jaundice in newborns with phototherapy. Exposing jaundiced babies to special blue lights that break down bile pigments and prevent them from building up and causing brain damage.

In rare cases, a blood transfusion may be necessary.

Identify potential Rh incompatibility in expectant mothers. Incompatible Rh factor usually is not problematic with first pregnancies, as the mother's body typically produces the unwanted antibodies only after delivery. A special serum given after each delivery can prevent the production of antibodies.

If antibodies develop during a first pregnancy, or if antibody production is not prevented, the developing baby is monitored closely. If necessary, a transfusion may be given to the infant in the womb or an exchange transfusion may be given after birth, removing and replacing a large volume of the infant's blood.

Be vaccinated against German measles (rubella) before becoming pregnant.

To prevent CP, prospective parents should follow these guidelines:

* Get regular prenatal care.

* Expectant mothers and, in some cases, expectant fathers should get a simple blood test to determine their Rh factor. An incompatibility between mother and child usually does not cause problems with the first pregnancy. And an immunization given to the mother after delivery of an Rh positive child can prevent problems for future pregnancies.

* Women should be immunized against rubella (German measles) before getting pregnant.

* Women who are expecting or who plan to become pregnant should try to avoid toxoplasmosis by not eating undercooked pork or lamb and by keeping away from cat litter boxes.

* Parents should follow safety precautions such as using child safety seats in vehicles to prevent head injury and having children wear safety equipment,, Baby Bath Ring Seat, such as helmets, for bike riding or other activities.

* Parents should seek treatment right away for a baby who is jaundiced. If phototherapy isn't effective, as in some severe cases, a special form of blood transfusion can correct the jaundiced condition.

The cause of cerebral palsy (CP) sometimes is not known. However, links have been identified between CP and certain conditions during pregnancy, birth, and early childhood. Some of these can be prevented; some cannot.

You can help prevent CP before and during your pregnancy by adopting and maintaining healthy habits.

* Eat nutritious foods.

* Do not smoke.

* Avoid exposure to harmful substances.

*, Baby Bath Ring Seat, See your health, Baby Bath Ring Seat, professional regularly.

Also, help prevent CP in your young child by minimizing your child's risk for sustaining a brain injury.

* Take measures to prevent accidents.

* Make sure you are familiar with the signs of jaundice in newborns.

* Know how to prevent lead poisoning.

* Keep your child away from people who have serious contagious illnesses, such as meningitis.

* Make sure your child's immunizations are up to date. For more information, see the topic Immunizations.

How to Prepare For a C Section - 4 Tips For When You Get Home

Well, you made it through. You have get your new baby (or babies). Congratulations! Now the real fun begins.

Coming home with little ones is a great feeling, especially after you have spent five days in hospital, Baby Bath Ring Seat, .

If this is your first child it is a great time to bond with them as you rest up from your surgery. But if you have other children this can be the time when things start to go wrong quickly. Fortunately one of the positive things about knowing that you are having a c section is that you can put certain things in place to prepare for a c section recovery when you get home.

1 - Organize some help. Whether you beg, steal, borrow or hire it. The more children that you have, the more help that you will need.

Unfortunately your best chance of an uncomplicated recovery comes when you just have yourself and baby to look after, which means that all other responsibilities, like other children, washing, vacuuming, sweeping, running around dropping kids of here and there have to take a back seat. You need to prepare for rest after your c section - If you don't HAVE to do it. DON'T do it. Organize someone else to do it for you. Most people are more than happy to oblige.

2 - Don't leave last minute shopping for when you get home.

Try to, Baby Bath Ring Seat, anticipate what you will need for baby in the way of feeding bottles, sterilizers, clothing, bedding and so forth. You won't just be able to 'pop down to the shop' in the car if you haven't got anything important.

3 - Organize your 'work stations'. Put it the things that you will need regularly within easy reach of the bench,, Baby Bath Ring Seat, change pad or baby bath so that you are not over extending or straining every time that you need to change a nappy, feed or bath baby.

4 - Organize your rooms. If you have a split level home or you were planning on putting bub down the far end of the house, it may pay to move baby closer until your 6 week check and put in night lights. The last thing that you want to be doing is walking up and down stairs four or five times a night in the dark.

How you prepare for a c section will determine how you heal. If you handle that first six weeks properly this can determine whether you have an uncomplicated recovery or not. Follow some simple rules and you may even start to feel better earlier.

Overdo it and I can almost guarantee that you'll feel much worse for much longer.

Ten Ways to Keep That Fire Burning

Relationships are very similar to fireplaces. They can bring warmth and comfort into your home making it a cozy place to escape the harsh elements we often face outside, but it takes work.

If you want a bigger and hotter fire you have to put more wood in the fireplace; and because wood gets consumed rather quickly, in order to maintain the same level of heat, you must put wood on the fire at the same rate that it is being consumed.

If you want to keep the fire burning in your relationship you must also put "wood on the fire" at the same level it is being consumed.

When we first meet someone, it starts with a spark. We then feed that spark with fuel such as flowers, dinner, notes, poems, candlelight dinners, long walks going nowhere just talking etc. Over the years many couples allow other things to consume their time like work, the children and their activities, the house and yard work and they often forget to feed the fire. What happens? You got it, the flame goes out and the heat is gone. Instead of blaming themselves for not feeding the fire, many blame the fireplace and say that it stopped working and they all to often begin to look for warmth from other sources; TV, the, Baby Bath Ring Seat, children, the internet, work, food, hobbies, sports, chat rooms and even other relationships; any other place they find comfort and enjoyment. You can easily see who these couples are if you look hard enough; they usually never hold hands anymore, hugs are a thing of the past, dinner is spent reading the newspaper and when the meal is over, (if they even still eat together) he goes his way and she goes hers.

He finds just as much warmth on the couch and she finds just as much affection in a book.

At this point, if you are still with me, many of you are probably thinking;
"Oh my gosh! He is talking about us!"

Well if that is true, there is still hope: read on....

What can you do to prevent passion burn out?

It takes intentional work to keep any fire burning and that includes the fire in your relationship. When I had a wood stove, I sometimes had to get up in the middle of the night to put more wood on the fire.

I had to prepare and have wood on hand before things started getting cold and that cost time, effort and sometimes money. If you want passion in your relationship, it will take work, it will take effort on your part and it sometimes takes doing things you would rather not do.

1.Prepare for cold times before they get there.

The worst thing one can do is to wait for the fire to start going out before you gather wood. This means that in advance, before things get cold, you have to store up time to get away, set aside a few bucks to go out to dinner or hotel, schedule baby sitters in advance, schedule vacations, plan special things for your anniversary, birthdays, valentines day etc.

Sit down with each other; get a calendar and set aside dates that, Baby, Baby Bath Ring Seat, Bath Ring Seat, you both agree to keep no matter what. Put a Red Heart on those days; when life gets hectic and begins to suck the passion out of you, just looking at that heart can bring comfort and anticipation.

Plan special surprise dates where each person is responsible for what is done and where you go without the other knowing in advance.

2.Don't wait for the fire to get too small

No one likes having the temperature fluctuate too much; cold one minute, hot the next. We would rather have steady warmth. In order to do this with a fire and a relationship, you must feed the fire on a regular basis. Set aside weekly or biweekly date nights. Sometimes a night away in a different environment will do wonders, even if it's a hotel around the corner from where you live.

Go out to dinner, a movie or just a walk in the park; take a ride in the car with the radio off so you can talk with each other. Keep the cell phones off or at least screen the calls and only take emergencies. Send flowers or candy, leave love notes and words of encouragement in places only your loved ones go. Leave a message on the answering machine, letting them know you love them, remember the phone companies commercial from a few years ago? "I just called to say I love you." It is still effective.

Surprise them with lunch at work. Be creative.

3.Watch the fire.

Sometimes because of the environment and type of wood that is used, you may need to feed the fire at faster intervals. Life is never the same every day. Some days we can coast and things go smooth and other days seem as though everything that can go wrong does. It is the busy and tough days that suck the life and passion out of us. Keep an eye on the fire; if your spouse is having rough times you may need to put a little extra wood on.

Take some of their responsibilities away from them during these days to lighten their load. Be extra affectionate,, Baby Bath Ring Seat, run the bath and have a few candles lit.

Send the kids to the neighbors for a few hours or better yet, you take them to the movies.

4.Load up for the long nights.

If you foresee any reason that you may not be able to tend to the fire, make sure you have the fireplace loaded if you want it to still be burning when things return to normal. If a person leaves with a fresh memory of how warm and comfortable it is at home, they will be less apt to look for warmth elsewhere. Enough said?

5.Stay away from fire extinguishers.

There are certain things that will put out a fire in a heartbeat.

Phone calls during dinner, conversations about work, lack of money, reading the paper and not paying attention, complaining and nagging are all things that will put out the passion. Even children with their needs will put a damper on a well intended night out. Make arrangements for them to be away. Neighbors and in-laws can come, Baby Bath Ring Seat, knocking on the door with best intentions, hang a do not disturb sign out and let everyone know that they need to stay away.

6.Know your wood.

You must know what fuel burns best. Know your partners likes and dislikes, know what they like to eat, the kind of movies they enjoy and what they enjoy doing. If you are not sure what turns their heat up, ASK! Trust me, it is easier to ask than it is to experiment. And hey! When they tell you what they like, don't think you know better. Men; a night at Lowes looking at the latest cordless drill may seem like a good time to you, but trust me, that wood is not getting lit; and ladies if your husband isn't the mushy love story kind of guy, movies like "Pretty Woman" are as wet as wood can get.

7.When it's your turn to feed the fire, just do it.

When it's your turn to feed the fire, remember that you are feeding this time and not eating, so what you like really doesn't matter. Focus on what turns their heat up, not yours. If their fire is burning, don't worry you will get warm.

8.It takes two.

There must be give and take in every relationship, it is called being thankful and appreciative towards each other. When selfishness gets in and it becomes all about me, all about I, then resentment may start to grow and that waters down any relationship.

Stop blaming each other. You can say that you are not putting any wood on the fire because you are not getting any heat and the fireplace can say it is not giving, Baby Bath Ring Seat, any heat because no one is giving it any wood.

Both parties are dependent on each other to have a warm relationship.

9.Don't hog the heat

If, Baby Bath Ring Seat, you keep putting logs on the fire and you aren't getting any heat or comfort out of it, you will eventually stop feeding that fire.

You must give out as much as you receive if not more. A good fireplace is designed to give back a good portion of the heat it generates; a poor one allows all the heat to go up the chimney. If your, Baby Bath Ring Seat, spouse is giving and giving and you are taking and taking, don't be surprised when the giving stops.

It is called balance. Everything in the universe survives on this principle and so does your relationship. You must give in order to receive and if you want more, you must give more. Again, if you are not doing your part, don't be surprised when the wood stops coming.

10.Take care of the fireplace

Do you remember when you first started dating? You were always on time, dressed to kill, your hair all done up, makeup just right, car or truck all cleaned. Never said a harsh word to each other, some even apologized if they burped out loud.

How is it now? Hair in curlers, no make up, yesterdays McDonalds on the floor of the car, fries in the seat, dressed in your work clothes for dinner and going to bed in what looks like your fathers old work out clothes? Do you force out that burp? Do you still hold your tongue when you get upset, or do you treat strangers with kinder words then your spouse? When the fireplace looks and acts like it is all worn out, people start to think about replacing it with a newer model. Take care of yourself, on the outside and the inside.

Does it take work? Sure it does. So? A fireplace that is kept well will be well kept.

What if the fire is already or nearly out?

Very often after the fire is almost out with only a few warm coals left, many feel they can throw one little stick on the fire and it will bring a blaze of heat back into the home. They see the sudden flame and feel a bit of heat and go to bed with a smile on their face but before the sun rises, things are just as cold as before. One night out, one bouquet of flowers, one dinner or one compliment and they feel everything should be the same the next day.

For relationships that have grown cold, you have to start all over again, feeding it a little at a time. Just like in your courting or dating days; time spent with each other just talking, dinner, a note left behind, a late night phone call about nothing, flowers, candy, and perfume. Remember, when a fire goes out, it is not just, Baby Bath Ring Seat, the fireplace that cooled off; the entire home did as well.

The bricks or stones, furniture, walls floors and ceilings all have to be warmed up and that takes time and energy. If you want that passion back, start small, be consistent and do not give up. It may take doing something small every day for weeks before you really feel the warmth coming back and as soon as you see that small flame, you better fan it and feed it cause it will go out quick if you don't. After it starts to burn, keep it going and never let it go out again!

Final thoughts:

A relationship requires constant work and attention.

The enemy wants us to take all of our focus off of the relationship and apply it elsewhere; knowing that if we keep our eyes off it long enough we will loose it. These principles not only apply for our relationship with our spouse, but also with our children, friends and family and of course our relationship, Baby Bath Ring Seat, with God.

Jesus spoke to the church of Ephesus in Revelation chapter 2 when He said, "You have done great works, but I have this against thee, you have left your first love, remember what you used to do and return to it and repent." Think, Baby Bath Ring Seat, back on how you treated each other when you first met, how you talked and the actions you took.

Think back to the time when things were great and full of passion and do now what you did then.

Traveling With Your Bird - Some Tips From Folks Who Travel With Their Bird Every Day

Before we get into specifics, let's start with the basics. Emergencies aside, if you're planning to travel with your bird, get the travel cage a few weeks in advance. This will give your bird time to get accustomed to the new cage. Also measure - measure - measure. Make sure it will fit in where, Baby Bath Ring Seat, ever it will be going car, travel trailer, family vehicle, motor home, commercial airliner, vacation cottage - just make sure it fits.

We don't have a flock, we have one small Indian Ringneck - Sunshine. Sunshine is 17. Catherine acquired him as a baby. He loves being with mom. We know about traveling with a bird. At home he has a 30 x 30 California cage (1), a large playstand (2) in the dining room and another playstand (3) in the kitchen. Every work day Sunshine climbs into his custom, 18 inch long carrier (4) and comes to work with us.

We open, Baby Bath Ring Seat, the carrier, he climbs up his Booda perch in to his 26 x 20 HQ cage (5) and finishes breakfast. Afterwards he'll walk back out via the Booda perch onto his King's acrylic playstand (6). When he gets bored he fly's onto his Prevue playstand (7) or his Prevue 20 x 20 wire cage (8) where he'll stand so he can watch mom oversee the shipping of packages to our customers.

We spend many of our summer weekends at a campground. When we get there he usually goes right into his 18 x 18 (9) Prevue cage. We modified our small travel trailer so the cage fits nicely into a closet where we removed the top of the door and provided a gentle light. When we're outside the trailer, we have a large canopy/tent where Sunshine spends time in his 32 x 21 HQ aviary (10) under the canvas. He always has one side of his cage against a wall for his own privacy.

If you've been following my notes, you'll see our little 3 ounce bird has 10 cages and stands.

We've never had a problem getting him into a new cage because 1) we don't make of an issue of it and 2) he's happy just to be with us.

A travel cage can be metal, fabric or plastic like - rigid or collapsible. Because it's a travel cage only makes it slightly different than his home cage. If it's metal, bar spacing should be appropriate. If it's fabric, the fabric should be durable enough and well designed to discourage chewing. Clear plastic cages allow for great vision but may be confining for extended travel periods.

It may only have one perch instead of three or four. Make sure it's comfortable on the feet. Stopping and starting in traffic should not cause your bird discomfort. A couple of small toys should be introduced to keep birdie boredom down. If you're traveling by auto, keep the bird in the back seat away from airbags in case of "god-forbids." Keep it strapped, Baby Bath Ring Seat, with a seatbelt to avoid sudden movement.

If your driving at night, cover the cage, the intermittent glare of auto lights can be scary, especially if its after bed time. If you're taking a road tip stopping at motels, find a place to put the travel cage where you bird can sleep with as little disturbance as possible through the night. We usually find the bath room counter to be the best spot, it's out of the way and once the cage is, Baby Bath Ring Seat, covered, affords privacy.

In terms of temperature, it's simple, Baby Bath Ring Seat, - if your comfortable, your bird is comfortable. No hot cars with the window cracked or in front of air conditioners in hotel rooms.

If traveling for the first time, we suggest a few trial runs before the big trip. Go to a friends, the vet or even just a ride, the bird gets accustomed to the procedure, travel process and change in general. If you let the bird out of the travel cage while in the vehicle don't forget to put him back before any passengers open the door. Some birds don't like to poop in their travel cage. This is a judgment call. Choose carefully where you'll let them out to poop. You also may want to check out the nearest avian vet to your destination, before you get there - just so you have the info.

Remember. birds in the wild are natural travelers. Larger birds will fly 50 or miles per day seeking food. Many migrate thousands of miles twice annually. It's usually less of an issue for the bird than for you. Lastly, we know you love showing off your bird. Unknown places would not be the time to do it. Unscrupulous people may have ulterior motives. While traveling with your bird it's no ones business but your own. Have a great trip.

How to Register For a Baby

Registration for a baby can be confusing and overwhelming. However, if you keep it simple and come armed with an organized list of items you need and want, the process can go much faster.Babies need a lot of things, but not all at once and not when they are first born.I always recommend checking out records of other people to get ideas before you go. If you repeat everything to see records, it is safe to assume they are popular for a reason.Bring the hubby along. He will have fun with the registration gun.

BRINGING BABY HomeThe following items you need and / or I found useful in setting home.Burp baby wipes and bibs - And many of them. Let friends buy the cute Ones imagination, but make sure to stock the variety of cloth diaper burp cloths.Receiving Blankets - these are always a must have and completely necessary if your baby is born in the colder months.Bodysuits / SHIRTS - You 'll put it in all babies get clothes as a bunch. Get both long and short sleeve. Also make sure to hook some of the button-up shirts will carry your baby in the hospital.

They are ideal for baby's cord when not fallen off yet and you want to keep clothing loose.Bottles - I breastfeeding for six weeks, but I formula fed at the same time, so we need bottles immediately. We started with three of the five ounce bottles and now use four of the nine ounce bottles. You may want a few more than that, but I do not like clutter and do not mind washing them every day. If you have dogs, buy a set of nipples because she will get, they chew and ruin them. The same goes for pacifiers.

Breast Pumps - If you are going to breastfeed, you want a pump. I hired me from the hospital, which saved me money because breast pumps are not cheap. With the rent I got a package of new accessories sterilized. If you in the long term, get a pump that has a hands-free bra. Please understand that your hands available to, Baby Bath Ring Seat, do other things while pumping.

Infant Car Seat - You definitely need a car seat. The hospital will not let you leave unless you have one. Do not bother asking if you check the space in your room alone. Your husband can bring in five minutes before you are set to leave. Make sure he leaves the base in the car.Swaddles and Sleep Sacks - Get a lot of this. Your baby will sleep swaddled for a few, Baby Bath Ring Seat, months, so you want a few different materials, depending on the season.

Monitor have - there are many options on the market, including video monitors.First Aid Kit - Make sure it has all the brush , comb, scissors, nail clippers, finger toothbrush, Emery boards, nasal aspirator, thermometer, medicine dropper, etc. Also some Little Noses, baby Tylenol, Desitin and Aquaphor baby on hand.Diaper Pail - Your baby will be pooping immediately so you will have a place to put that stinking diapers.Wash cloths and towels - Even though your baby does not get a real bath for their cable fails, you still want to sponge them down every few days.

You can watch from the cockpit until the cord falls out.Boppy - This pillow is ideal for breast and belly time.Swing for babies / Bouncy Seat - This device keeps your little one happy and keep you hands-free. Of course you can also you need a cradle or a crib, stroller, dresser / changing table, bedding, furniture and other large glider as you see fit.DIAPERS, WIPESYou formula and does not go to strike these items for babies born. You can use a ton of this stuff, Baby Bath Ring Seat, from the hospital. Make sure you bring an extra empty bag to the hospital and take as many of these items as you can.Once you know the kind of baby diapers to use, Amazon.com is a great place to get diapers in bulk for less money.

Costco is a great place for wet wipes and formula.ITEMS YOU CAN SKIP These are items I found to buy unnecessary or were not told to get from professionals, Baby Bath Ring Seat, and other moms.

Bottle Warmer - waste of, Baby Bath Ring Seat, space combat. You can always run under cold milk a hot tap to warm up or warm tap water used for mixing formula.Wipes Warmer - You know you love your baby tushy, but a warm wipe is not necessary.

Car Sun Shade - This is actually a driving hazard. You should not be something in the back except the baby in the infant carrier.Car Mirror - Driving danger again. You'll watch your baby all the time instead of watching the road. Eventually your baby realize you can see them and start whining for you. Better leave them to their fate and learning independence.Sleep Positioner - The packaging tells you that it helps prevent SIDS, but there is no science to back this up. Plus you would not have anything in the crib - it contains a sleeping positioner.
